Chitragupta Puja, dedicated to Chitragupta, the divine accountant and recorder of deeds, is observed by certain communities to seek blessings for a prosperous and righteous life. Chitragupta is believed to keep a meticulous account of the actions of individuals, determining their destiny based on their deeds. Chanting specific mantras during Chitragupta Puja is a way to invoke his divine presence and seek his guidance.

Here is the Chitragupta Puja Mantra:

ॐ श्री चित्रगुप्ताय नमः (Om Shri Chitraguptaya Namah)

This mantra is a salutation to Chitragupta, acknowledging his divine role as the recorder of deeds. Devotees often repeat this mantra with sincerity and devotion during the puja to seek blessings for clarity in their actions and righteous living.

Chitragupta Puja Mantra:

  3. Arrange Puja Items:
    • Idol or Image of Chitragupta: If available, place a picture or idol of Chitragupta on the puja seat.
    • Pen and Paper: Symbolizing the recording of deeds.
    • Incense Sticks and Diya: For invoking a sacred atmosphere.
    • Fruits, Flowers, and Sweets: Offerings to the deity.
