Devghar, also known as Deoghar, is a renowned pilgrimage site in the Indian state of Jharkhand, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is a significant destination for Bol Bom pilgrims during the auspicious month of Shravan. If you are planning to undertake a Bol Bom journey to Devghar, here’s a guide on how to reach there:

Plan your Travel:

  • Choose the most convenient mode of transportation to reach Devghar. The nearest major cities with good connectivity are Ranchi, Patna, Kolkata, and Varanasi.
  • If you prefer air travel, you can fly to Ranchi or Patna and then proceed by road or rail.
  • If you prefer train travel, you can check for trains heading to Baidyanathdham Deoghar Railway Station, which is the closest railway station to Devghar.

Journey by Road

  • Devghar is well-connected by road. You can hire a taxi or take a bus from nearby cities or towns.
  • If you are traveling from Ranchi, you can take the NH33 and NH114 highways.
  • If you are coming from Patna, you can take the NH31 and NH133 highways.
  • It is advisable to check the road conditions and plan your travel accordingly.

Journey by Rail

  • Baidyanathdham Deoghar Railway Station is the nearest railway station to Devghar.

Bol Bom Rituals

  • Once you reach Devghar, immerse yourself in the spiritual atmosphere and participate in the Bol Bom rituals.
  • Carry a bamboo pole with a pot filled with Ganga Jal (holy water) on your shoulder.
  • Chant “Bol Bom” and sing devotional songs as you make your way to the Baidyanath Temple, the main shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva.
  • Take part in the aarti (ritualistic worship) and seek the blessings of Lord Shiva.
