Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha Election Phases 2024

As of that time, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Indian National Congress are two major political players in Indian politics, including Uttar Pradesh. Here’s a breakdown of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha Election Phases 2024

1. Phased Voting:

Uttar Pradesh will have voting in 7 phases for its 80 Lok Sabha seats.

2. Phase-wise Constituencies:

First Phase (April 19): Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Nagina, Moradabad, Rampur, and Pilibhit.

Second Phase (April 26): Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, and Ghaziabad.

Third Phase (May 7): Sambhal, Hathras, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah, Badayu, Amla, and Bareilly.

Fourth Phase (May 13): Shahjahanpur, Kheri, Dhaurahara, Sitapur, Hardoi, Misrikh, Unnao, Farrukhabad, Etawah, Kannauj, Kanpur, Akbarpur, and Bahraich.

Fifth Phase (May 20): Mohanlalganj, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Jalaun, Jhansi, Hamirpur, Banda, Fatehpur, Kaushambi, Barabanki, Faizabad, Kaiserganj, and Gonda.

Sixth Phase (May 25): Sultanpur, Phulpur, Allahabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Shravasti, Dumariyaganj, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Lalganj, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Machhilshahr, Bhadohi, and Pratapgarh.

Seventh Phase (June 1): Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Deoria, Bansgaon, Ghosi, Salempur, Ballia, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Robertsganj.

3. Political Contestants:

BJP, leading the NDA, plans to contest most seats.

Congress intends to field candidates in 17 constituencies.

Samajwadi Party, under Akhilesh Yadav’s leadership, and other members of the INDIA bloc will compete for the remaining 63 seats.

4. Constituency Details:

17 constituencies are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates, while the remaining 63 are open to candidates from any background.

5. Previous Election Results:

BJP secured 303 seats nationally in the previous elections, dominating the field.

Congress held only 52 seats, remaining in the opposition without enough numbers to lead in the Lok Sabha.

This election in Uttar Pradesh holds significant importance due to its impact on national dynamics, with parties vigorously competing to gain a stronghold in the state.
